A Trusted Store badge, which was announced at Shoptalk US 2022 is set to be launched soon.

By enabling free listings, Google Shopping attempts to establish itself as an open Amazon competitor. The most recent step in this direction will be the addition of a “Trusted Store” logo to Google Shopping product pages.

Performance metrics such as shipment speeds, shipping/return prices, and return windows will be used to determine the badge. In the Buying options list for a product, this blue checkmark shows beside the ratings/reviews overview.

Google said merchants who display the Trusted Store badge are more likely to obtain clicks. They also noticed strong traffic to less well-known vendors.

Meanwhile, retailers can use new insight capabilities that reveal the total traffic, impressions, and conversion rate of their free listings. in the Google Merchant Center.

Local retailers with US or Canadian Business Profiles will receive a local product insights report soon. According to Google, local companies will be able to see their most popular products, as well as a glimpse of top products and total views over time, using these insights. This will aid brick-and-mortar shops that do not offer an e-commerce platform in better understanding how interest differs among their top products.

The said badge is designed to let customers know they’re spending money with a business they can trust. It is said to be part of Google’s Shopping Experience Scorecard program, which rewards merchants for good customer experiences and helps them build their reputation with potential buyers.
