According to Cloudflare’s Radar service, Tiktok has become the world’s most popular website in 2021.
Radar calculates site popularity through an assessment of the derived aggregated data from the 1.1.1.1 Public DNS Resolver and a range of data that Cloudflare has about global internet traffic patterns.
However, with regards to how Cloudflare decided its rankings of the sites, it remains unknown. There is also the fact that Radar was only launched in September 2020 which could mean that the data for 2020 were less.
The top-ranking sites in Cloudflare’s 2021 Traffic Rankings are:
As to how and why Tiktok was able to over run the other big sites in the list, Cloudflare offered no opinion.
The analysis, however, suggests that Tiktok first topped global traffic on February 17, 2021 and has scored a few more days at the top slot in March.
After August 10, 2021, it took the lead on most days as the site with most traffic.
Even though Google occasionally scored a day on the top of the charts, Tiktok has remained the leader on most of the days.
