Google Photos appears to be adding a new snippet function that highlights the most important parts of the user’s video being shared.

The most recent addition to Google Photos is AI-powered video snippets, which can be seen in the search tab after the number of auto-generated albums and Memories collections has increased in recent years.

Effectively, snippets are constructed depending on what Google Photos thinks is the best moment or clip from an uploading video, as discovered by Android Police. This option appears in the “Creations” panel from within the Search panel, according to some posts on Reddit. However, because the option is now generally available, it appears to be part of a server-side change rather than a regular app update.

Video snippets are considered the same as other auto-generated content in Google Photographs, such as collages, styled, and animated photos, thanks to the categorization in the “Creations” panel. Users may see a clip within the Memories or Stories carousel that allows them to “Save snippets” to your library, similar to styled photos.

This video snippet effectively incorporates the most action-packed or noticeable segment of a clip, as determined by Google Photos.
