In a Reddit SEO thread a user asked when it comes to blogging, would it be better to publish everyday or once a week with some solid content.

John Mueller chimed in and provided his insights on the question:

“As often as you have something unique & compelling to say. That said, if you do it regularly, you will likely get some traffic for some of the posts. It *might* be worth it to do that, regularly review where it worked (somewhat like keyword research after the fact), and then write some significantly better things on that topic. The problem with trying to keep a frequency up is that it’s easy to end up with mediocre, fluffy content, which search engine quality algorithms might pick up on, and then assume the whole site is like that. Taking risks like this in the beginning when it’s easy for you to start over is probably fine, doing that in the long run *will* be painful when it catches up to you. (All of this applies even more if you’re taking short-cuts with gen-ai content)”.

As always, high-quality content is still the way to go though he did mention that at the beginning, writing frequently might be a worth it thing to do especially if you are trying to gain more traffic to your site. Still, in the long run, publishing great content is still the best way to go and doing so means that you might not be able to publish as often.
