Google has announced the release of the October 2023 Spam update, just a few days after the completion of the September 2023 Helpful Content Update and prior to that, the August 2023 core update.
It is an update to their spam detections system, set to improve coverage in many languages in spam type.
According to Google, the spam update aims to clean up several types of spam that community members reported in Turkish, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Hindi, Chinese, and other languages. They expect to reduce the visible spam in search results, particularly when it comes to cloaking, hacked, auto-generated, and scraped spam. The update will take a few weeks to roll out.
The August 2023 Core Update and September 2023 Helpful Content Update has negatively affected a lot of sites and now, we have the October 2023 Spam Update rolling out. Seems like Google is on a roll with all these updates happening successively.
