YouTube Vanced, a long-running effort to avoid paying for the ad-free membership of YouTube has been discontinued.

According to the Vance Telegram Channel, due to legal reasons, it will be taken down, they added that further developments and the download links will be removed.

Along with the greater web ad blocker controversy, content creators have always deemed this software ethically problematic. Vanced provided an unofficial alternative for Android users to watch YouTube without advertising without paying the $11.99 monthly fee. In place of ad revenue, YouTube Premium provides creators with a portion of the monthly price.

On the other hand, after the announcement made by Vanced, it’s unclear whether YouTube will take any action to disable current usage/access.
