We’re now on the second week of July and it seems pretty quiet in the SEO space, which can be good – no new updates! Here are this week’s notable SEO news.
Google has announced that online merchants can now add their shipping and return information directly in Search Console. The information that can be added includes delivery time, shipping cost, return window, and return cost.
Last year, they have began supporting product level shipping and return markup. Recently, they have also added markup support for specifying a general return policy. This new addition makes it easier to add the information and for them to show up in the search results. Note that the Search Console Shipping and Return settings take precedence over configurations on your site, including product-level merchant listing mark-up. Best to make sure all the information added is accurate and regularly updated to reflect changes.
Check out the documentation on configuring shipping and returns in Search Console for details on how to set it up.
This week’s episode of Search Off The Record Podcast is all about JavaScript. Martin and John is joined by Zoe Clifford of the rendering team to discuss how Google deals with JavaScript, how rendering JavaScript sites works, what owners of such websites should look out for, and a whole lot more.
If your site is in JavaScript or your pages and content use it, it’s a must watch (or must listen to!). Check out the episode below:
