Despite a failed launch in the UK this summer, TikTok is continuing with plans to introduce live shopping in the United States.

While struggling to gain traction in Western markets, live shopping is revolutionizing eCommerce in Asian markets and just in July, TikTok gave up on live shopping in the UK because it didn’t live up to expectations.

However, according to The Financial Times, TikTok is preparing to provide live shopping ahead of the holiday season with several major businesses. This is through the Live shopping blends e-commerce with TikTok live streams to let users make purchases inside the app.

The US debut would mark TikTok’s second attempt to introduce live shopping outside of Asia and to bring live shopping to the United States, TikTok will collaborate with TalkShopLive, a Los Angeles-based company. It is said that TalkShopLive has the infrastructure and four years of experience operating shopping streams to realize TikTok’s objective.

Although, reportedly, TikTok and TalkShopLive have not yet signed any contracts and are still completing their agreements, an announcement will soon be released.
