After a few years, Twitter is finally set to roll out the eagerly awaited Edit Tweet feature.
“Think of it as a tiny bit of time to address things like repair typos, add missed tags, and more,” said Twitter in a blog post.
According to Twitter, the test will be confined to a single nation initially then will be extended as they learn and monitor how people use ‘Edit Tweet’ and observe how the functionality affects how users read, compose, and engage with tweets.
Twitter said that the platform will feel more approachable and less stressful.
“We’ll keep working on ways to make it feel effortless to do precisely that, so you should be able to join in the conversation in a way that makes sense to you,” Twitter said.
As of now, Twitter intends to give Twitter Blue subscribers access to Edit Tweet, which is undergoing internal testing to find and fix any potential problems.
It is said that the updated tweets will implement a long-requested feature and display an icon, timestamp, and label to indicate that the original tweets have been modified, following Facebook’s lead.
