Zoom appears to be experiencing a major global outage, preventing thousands of users from participating in conferences around the world.
Users in both the United States and the United Kingdom reported that they were unable to join or start conferences using the website or the app.
The problems began around 15:17 BST (10:17 EDT), according to the website Downdetector, and are still ongoing.
The company’s service status page reports ‘degraded performance’ for Web Portal users.
‘We have received reports of a subset of users being unable to access to Zoom Web Portal. We are currently investigating and will provide updates as we have them,’ a note on the site posted at 15:38 BST (10:38 EDT) reads.
Another update, posted at 15.59 BST, states, they have fixed the problem that was preventing some users from accessing the Zoom Web Portal. They said they will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as they become available.
Because of national rail strikes, millions of Britons have been forced to work from home.
