There has been a lot of debate when it comes to dofollow links and nofollow links such as nofollow links do not help with rank as the authority is not passed on to the page linked to. Another is limiting linking out to other pages as it passes of authority to the other site and in some way, diminishes your own site’s authority. If you have ever been concerned about this and have avoided linking out for fear of losing the authority of your site, then, fear not.

In a Twitter thread on no follow and do follow links, a twitter user mentioned how SEOs say setting links as follow scatters authority.

According to John Mueller, there is no such thing as “scattering the authority”.

It looks like there is no need to be concerned about linking out to other pages and not setting them as nofollow as this does not serve to scatter or diminish the authority of your page.
