When Google had their SEO office hours hangout, a question regarding the benefits of regularly adding content was raised, a question if posting new content frequently is a good idea because it encourages people to return for more.

“Does posting one content daily increase ranking?” the question asked during the hangout session with Google on September 7, 2022.

Google answered “No”. They said that to rank higher in Google search results, posting everyday or with any other regularity is useless. But the more pages you have indexed by Google, the more your material might appear in search results.

Over the past few years, it has been discovered that not all information is crawled by Google.

“The other big reason why we don’t crawl a lot from websites is because we’re not convinced about the quality overall. So that’s something where, especially with newer sites, I see us sometimes struggle with that,” John Mueller, Webmaster Trends Analyst at Google said on the July 19 episode of SEO Office hours hangout.

Mueller said that if the information isn’t crawled, it won’t be indexed, which is crucial for ranking.

“And I also sometimes see people saying well, it’s technically possible to create a website with a million pages because we have a database and we just put it online. And just by doing that, essentially from one day to the next we’ll find a lot of these pages but we’ll be like, we’re not sure about the quality of these pages yet. And we’ll be a bit more cautious about crawling and indexing them until we’re sure that the quality is actually good,” Mueller said.
