For a few minutes on Tuesday evening, at around 8:50 PM ET, Google Search experienced a partial outage that prevented the search engine from returning search results for some people.
Those affected, instead of seeing search results, only saw various search cards such as People Also Ask, related Tweets, videos, and related searches. It also showed a “More Results” button that did not do anything when clicked.
A Google spokesperson shared the following statement with BleepingComputer on the outage:
“There was a very brief issue affecting the availability of results for some searches, limited to the Americas region, and it was quickly addressed.” – A Google spokesperson.
Though the issue was quickly resolved, it showed how important Google was for some people and how they relied on the search engine when doing searches. We wonder how many of those who experienced the issue shifted to Bing instead of waiting for the issue to get fixed.
