Google has added new capabilities to their AI-powered search generative experience for local searches and travel searches. If you ask questions about a place or destination, an AI-powered snapshot brings together the most helpful information available, not only from those across the web but also from reviews, photos, and Google Business profile details.

As an example provided by Google, you might ask if a certain restaurant is good for large groups or whether they’re vegetarian-friendly, or maybe you want to know when people recommend visiting a particular landmark, so you can avoid the crowds. With the improved experience in SGE, you’ll get useful insights to guide you along the way.

Google states that this technology is still experimental and they are continuing to incorporate feedback and fine-tune their generative AI experiences to introduce new and improved capabilities.

If you have a Google Business Profile, make sure that all the information in it is updated and complete, with all the best images, and that you have good reviews. Now that SGE uses data from GMB, it’s time to put your best foot forward.
