Instagram Reels released new features allowing users to express themselves in new ways through short video clips.

An update with the sound effects library on Instagram Reels gives users an option to directly upload audio files from their phone.

Also, Instagram has increased the users videos capacity to upload from 15 seconds to 90 seconds clips and the maximum length of reel advertisements is now 60 seconds.

These tools are intended to assist content creators in engaging with their audiences, attracting viewers, and expressing themselves in new ways.

It is expected that creators can now use another video as a template when creating their Reels on Instagram. Users will only need to add and trim their unique clips after preloading audio and clip placeholders from source videos.

According to Instagram, public accounts with over 10,000 followers that posted at least five reels in 60 days gained 250 percent more followers than those in the same category that did not post reels.

Meanwhile, Instagram video posts currently have a 1.5 percent engagement rate, indicating that people are doing more than just scrolling through. Furthermore, 86 percent of consumers say they are more likely to buy a product with “shareworthy” Instagram content.
